I managed to start xbigforth by changing the
definition of (normal-font from xft-font.fs. It had
the following part:
s" -xft-arial-bold-r-normal--12-*-*-*-p-*-iso10646-1"
0 font!
s"
-xft-courier-medium-r-normal--12-*-*-*-c-*-iso10646-1"
1 font!
s" -xft-arial-medium-r-normal--8-*-*-*-p-*-iso10646-1"
2 font!
s"
-xft-arial-medium-r-normal--12-*-*-*-c-*-iso10646-1" 3
font!
And I do not have xft font family on my system. After
replacing these lines with the names of available
fonts everything seems to be working.
