Patna, Aug 30 (PTI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today announced a
financial assistance of Rs five crore for flood victims of Bihar.

Modi also requested Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil to extend Centre's
cooperation in transporting a 40-member team of rescuers and 12 modern
inflatable boats to the flood-hit areas, official sources here said.



Modi conveyed his concern and sympathy for the flood victims during a
telephonic talk with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and apprised him of his
government's decision for financial and other assistance.



The rescue team with boats would leave Ahmedabad for Bihar tomorrow
afternoon. PTI
