Dear Surya, Most of what you say is correct and anything more added to this with the same spirit and in the same direction will also be unquestionably true.
The election has no issue for the political parties. People are drowned in issues. The issues like the Return of Money in Swiss Bank, Ram Mandir, Nuclear Deal, BJP Minister's flight to Afghanistan, Communalism etc are making people go to sleep as all of them are Repeats of their own deeds and no issue for the public. For all the 9 years Jharkhand suffered in the hands of Independent MLAs and those from smaller parties. Same Independents with same degree of corruption and same degree of Black mail with whosoever came to head the Govt. I believe people in Bihar are telling the cine boy Sanjay Dutt that by standing with Laloo he was harming the interests of people of Bihar. I hear some people whispering that right place for Sanjay should be behind bar in POTA. The politicians think that people are really a bunch of fools and the people really have faith in these ruffians words. Far from it. I am not sure but this election seems to be taking such False Democracy to a downward journey in which election tickets are sold and Candidates file nomination to withdraw later for a payment. vns 2009/4/14 Suryanarayana <[email protected]> > > Dear IITians, > > This election most of the people have understood how politicians work.. > with no party making serious impression...new deveolopments taking place > > a) new leadership is emerging from those who are fed up with present and > with a concern for country > > b) until 2004 only 20,000 families in India or 1000 families per state have > understood and profited from the recession-proof business models of > elections > > since no clear winning mandate is around > > exit route 1.. > 1) independent candidates... spend 10 lakh and exit before elections by > taking 25 lakh from candidates who spend 5 cr for ticket and 2 cr for > election expenses (works well where previous elections were won by thin > margins less than 1000 votes) and also the betting circuits(some > constituency >100 cr) are willing to pay to independent candidates to exit > for saving their bottomlines > > heard in a village (10 people pitching 1 lakh each to work this) > > six months effort x becomes 3x > > some are saying I will fund 5 independent candidates > > exit route 2... > > 2) win the election (expenses atleast 50 lakh).. and sell out a party for > much higher valuation > > one yr effort x becomes 5x > > 3) win the elections and happen to stay for 5 yrs > > 5 yr effort x becomes 10x > > with dynamics changing for old 20000 families, they are looking for people > who can come up with new business models > > Let us be optimistic that more of a) category are jumping into the fray > > surya > > > > > -- "Those who have the privilege to know, have the duty to act."
