Dear Sneha,

Because the Candidates and their parties are always looking for a
short cut to win the election. Alternative is hard work which they do
not want to do. From asking for votes to maintaining a constant and
consistent relationship with the voters for five years and beyond
requires a zeal and desire for social service - better to add selfless
service. After the Fight for Indian Independence which ended in 1947
such species are no more in production. The Candidates in the
Elections
have slowly but steadily dropped the social service part somewhere on
the way and gone to money making and spending game through which to
win elections- cheating and deceiptful way of operations. This saves
them from a lot of embarrassment not bothering about the voters in
their constituency as they have not seen the voter's face and also
that they have already paid the price for the voter's votes through
their agents.

This election has not been fought on 'Issues'. So every party leader
looked for or coined his own issue. Unlike the olden days one cannot
be anti-congress to get a recognition. Now you have to be anti
everything like anti-Congress, anti -BJP, anti-Laloo, anti Ram Vilas,
anti-Mulayam, anti Mayawati, anti DMK, anti - AIADMK etc....

This is reflecting now perhaps in the whole of the country. But the
exponential fall in the voters percent is an indicator of extreme
degeneration in our political environment. At least, Bihar, Jharkhand
, UP and MP have voted somewhere around 20-25%. The rest of the
publicised no. by ECI though maintained at less than 50% is bogus
voting. Voters are so much disenchanted and disappointed with the
leadership of all colours.

The aforesaid States had so many of the hired Movie stars this time
that it looked like they were getting unemployed in Mumbai. The
candidates involved in this activity must feel ashamed of this action
of theirs and for absence of their standing in the public eye.
The Congress candidate from Ranchi must have broken all record of
hiring the third rate Movie Stars when he had a good chance as a
Minister to serve and get votes on his own.
