Passing of the RTE Bill 2008 by Parliament today is the most unfortunate
thing to have happened to the Republic. Though details of Lok Sabha voting
and members present and voting are not available around 20% present and
voting in Rajya Sabha was Anti-Democracy. It will benefit the Private
operators in the field of Education and poor, weak and downtrodden will be
forced to remain where they are today. In reality it takes away the
Fundamental Right of children to Education guaranteed by a Supreme Court
Judgement (1993)
