According to a news report Rahul Gandhi blames the concerned State Governments for showing indifference to the Naxals and the issues they are raising. This , he felt has created the Naxal problem. I am sure what he means is that not enough has been done to mitigate poverty and no communication link with Naxals exist. On the other hand Sri P. Chidambaram is handling the Naxal issue much more ferociously than the Govt normally does against the enemy of the country. According to a Press Report he has asked the Air Force to go to a combat operation against the Naxals. He has never used a milder action plan or a political solution to the problem as the Home Minister of the Union. Ground level politicians have never ever talked that language as they are aware of the truth prevailing on the ground-most important of them being High degree of corruption at higher political and administrative levels and attempts to snatch away the landed property of the poor Adivasis in the name of exploitation of Natural Mineral and Water Resources- by setting up of various plants on their land. A fair conclusion from this combat proposal in all the Naxal infested States with a little above 30% people sympathising for Naxals is that it may lead to a *Civil War *with Air Force above. The surprising part is that the DGP Jharkhand and Sri Chidambaram did not know about the Naxal's demand of releasing their Comrades from jail which everybody facing the Naxals bandh knew so well from the news paper report. Once again the TV reports indicate a total disbelief by Adivasi organisations in Jharkhand in the statement made by these two giants guiding the police and police action. Is it fair enough to hear of Chinese and Pakistani threats on our border on the one hand a Civil war inside? Such a stand can be expected from Sri Chidambaram as he was the one representing defamed Enron Co. of the US and one to push for revival of Dabhol Power Co.
