If you have a Philadelphia Bike Map you will notice a nearly unbroken 16.5
mile corridor of bike lanes from Independence Mall to Franklin Mills Mall.
It travels via 5th/6th, Spring Garden, Delaware, Aramingo, Torresdale,
Linden and Academy. However if you have ridden this corridor you know that a
good portion of the bike lanes that are indicated on the map are not there.
Bike lanes are missing on parts of Delaware Av between Frankford and
Richmond, Torresdale (entire length), Margaret/Orthodox, Academy between
Comly and Grant. I added the mileage up Delormes Topo USA and found that 10
miles of bike lanes are missing on this route.
There are also no bike lanes on 84th St in Eastwick.
What's up with this, I think we need an explanation from the Streets Dept.?
