Last Thursday I gave it a try heading home eastbound.
After getting off the BF bridge it's hard to get to. I made a wrong turn
off of Cooper Street (should have stayed to the far left) and ended up on
10th? Jumped over the median and after a few loops arrived at where the
sidewalk begins near the gas station.
Obviously, the sidewalk is too narrow, and light posts show up
occasionaly. Once the trail begins it's pretty nice, although the Canadian
Geese have certainly left their mark. The crossing at Baird Blvd is pretty
bad. It's also surprising how short that stretch of the Admiral Wilson
Blvd is - seems longer in a car.
At the end you're almost at 130 - and making a right gets you down to the
jughandle that leads to Cooper River Park - but there doesn't seem to be
any way to cross over to the other side of the river, which makes the path
usless for anyone in Collingswood and Westmont. I ended up crossing at
Cuthbert.
It's a real shame that work on the path didn't occur when the Admiral
Wilson Blvd was being rebuilt, because currently the Cooper River Greenway
is obviously an afterthought that I don't think is going to get much use
until it has better connections.
