Just wanted to alert anyone using the Cooper River Greenway to avoid using
the footbridge over the Admiral Wilson Blvd by Zinman Furs. This bridge is
literally covered with shards of broken glass. To add to the drama yesterday
I was approached by an urchin wearing a red hood and carrying a stick while
I was halfway across at 11 am. I saw him sitting on the steps on the North
side before I approached the bridge.

I kept walking towards him and for some reason he did not attack. He walked
across and sat on the south side steps. Maybe it was because I my bike was
between us and I was wearing my helmet and I was bigger than him. Since I
did not have a cell phone I did not report it to the police, I regret that I
did not.

Anyway I am notifying Maria Mondile at DRPA about the glass problem. If
anyone sees any suspicious activity on this bridge call 911. The security
problem does not seem to extend to the path, if anything I am actually
seeing people starting to use it.

Its a shame because although the bridge has steps its a good connection to
Marlton Pike
