I've only seen the path once and I saw signs "Road Closed" off to the right of the entrance, not blocking it, which looked to me like the path was open. I rode my bike on it for a bit but then I felt guilty because it did look vulnerable to damage so I exited. My point is that the signs were not clear to me.

Jay & bikies,
At the last Friends of the SW Path meeting on June 20, similar
signs were developed and forwarded to Aaron in pdf format. So Aaron has
been informed that the current signage is inadequate to no avail.
People ignore the road closed signs because they have been in place
for 9 months and people don't see any reason why they should stay off the
path when most of the time they see no construction activity. What the
Friends realized is that additional information needs to be posted right
when the paving is being done to convey a sense that the condition of the
path has changed and that there is a current need to stay off the path.
For Larry Nelson and Arthur Ross, this might be an idea to bring up with
contractors for future paths.
Aaron told my wife and I on Monday that people should stay off the
asphalt for a day after it has been laid and even then should avoid the
soft, exposed edge until the topsoil has been spread to cover the edge.

>CLOSED" signs, how about adding:

>"warning
>ASPHALT SOFT
>vulnerable to DAMAGE
>please keep off"
