The Critical Mass book chronicles the history and rise of CM from San Francisco in 1992 (starting as the "Commute Clot") and the grassroots, word of mouth, organic spread of the event to create bicycle friendly environments for the participants. Jam packed with analysis, opinion, anecdotes, flyers, photos, posters and stickers from more than four dozen contributors spread across the globe. For book release parties, various local contributors will be cajoled into rapping about CM, and we'll be showing Ted White's CM movie We Are Traffic! http://www.tedwhitegreenlight.com Ted's fantastic film chronicles both the successes and failures of the Critical Mass bicycle phenomenon, We Are Traffic! shows how Critical Mass has brought together complete strangers in an exuberant, commercial-free public space filled with creativity and unpredictability. Provocative and entertaining, this documentary presents a side of Critical Mass not seen in mainstream media and illustrates the amazing geographic spread of Critical Mass, providing glimpses of Critical Masses in Austin, Eugene, Chapel Hill, New York, Chicago, Copenhagen, London and Sydney. We Are Traffic! celebrates modern grassroots politics, free expression and the potential for revitalized public spaces. _______________________________________________ Bikies mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.danenet.org/mailman/listinfo/bikies
