Action Alert!

Dear Bikies,

I was checking our the LAB web site www.bikeleague.org  and I found this:

The US DOT is preparing for the reauthorization of the federal transportation bill and is seeking feedback from you!  Bicycling projects have received over $2 billion in federal support since 1991 and are currently eligible to receive support under several programs in the current legislation.
The federal transportation bill -- referred to as ISTEA in 1991, TEA-21 in 1998, and its renewal now labeled TEA-3 - authorizes over $200 billion in support for transportation.

This is the first time that US DOT is providing an Internet-based site for individuals to express their opinions and offer suggestions. http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/reauthorization

If you haven't done so already, please go to the US DOT web site (above) and tell them that you want Bicycle-Friendly Transportation Systems with the TEA-3 money.  Hey, it can't hurt?

Thanks,
Kathy Schramm
