Title: RE: [Bikies] Repaving Of E. Wilson

What I do to avoid the railroad tracks issue is to go up that little section of East Wilson, rather than the Williamson.  That way, you can cross the tracks at a perfect 90, cut across diagonally into East Wilson, right there by what used to be the Wilson Hotel.

The other problem I see is, further up, especially past Franklin, there is a "gully" between two sections of the road, right about where most bikes go.  I reported that as a problem that needed at least some patching, but when I go that way these days, I always turn at Franklin, so haven't been there lately.

Steve, be more specific about the section past the RR tracks and Butler, and you may get your wish.

Subject: [Bikies] Repaving Of E. Wilson

Does anyone know if the repaving that seems to be taking place on E. Wilson between Blair and Butler will include any improvements for bicyclists? It would be nice to have a little more lane space for those heading downtown from the East Side Path then crossing the tracks while merging with traffic at the same time. On a dry day there is not margin for error; in the winter or even a wet day the railroad crossing gets slippery and a little slip could send a rider into traffic.
