Kudos to everyone who showed up at the meeting last night and spoke on
behalf of mountain biking at Quarry Park (particularly the young gentleman
from the high school team that read the letter). You all made
well-reasoned arguments. Unfortunately, I had to leave the meeting before
my turn to speak came...but I did turn in a written registration of support
for the bikers from BFW. I hope that the users of the park can work out
their differences with the neighbors now that the issue has come up...there
seemed to be plenty of willingness to do so on the part of the bikers. If
anything was made clear to me at the meeting last night, it is that the
area needs MORE space for mountain biking...not less. I hope that's what
the parks commission heard as well.
