Regarding the DNR meeting, I have heard recently that part of what is happening to establish this new state park is a transfer of the Nine Springs E-Way, including the Capital City Trail, from Dane County to WisDNR. This likely has implications for Capital City trail maintenance (will it be plowed in the winter), and whether a fee might be charged to use this trail.

The DNR wants to know what facilities, activities, and land management strategies the public wants for this park. My deepest apologies for the late notice on the DNR meeting . I didn't even look at the paper announcing it until late last night. There will be more opportunities/meetings to plan the park, so this isn't your only chance. Soon there will be a section on the new park on the DNR website as well.
