This was the issue discussed during the Bike Sub-Committee (of the Transportation Committee) meeting last Dec. Matt Logan posted the link, which I have reposted below. (sorry - it's a PDF, so I can't cut-n-paste, and I don't have time to retype it.) http://dc-web.co.dane.wi.us/pdfdocs/minutes/trbp20011217.pdf To answer Tim's question directly - it would have to be done at the state level. Whether it would take legislation or simply an order from the DOT Secretary (or maybe the Governor?), I am not sure. Then again, if my memory serves me correctly, John Norwell said the County gets 25 cents on the dollar for "reimbursible transportation expenses." How much would it take to maintain the trail, and how much would be "non-reimbursible?" Are we talking the price of one pothole filled? Probably. _______________________________________________ Bikies mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.danenet.org/mailman/listinfo/bikies
