Instead of going in against the fees (which I am against), how about
suggesting ways to cut costs so that fees could not be justified?

** Reduce Mowing - this I assume is the major cost. The mow
width is too wide and the number of cuts per year is too many.
Two cuts maximum per year is more than enough.

** Begin an Adopt-A-Trail program. There are regular users
(bike/skaters/walkers) schools and neighbors that I am sure would
be pleased to help out. For example they could pick up trail
debris, keeps rest areas clean, report hazards and report
maintenance problems.

** The suggestion of the county patroling to assist users is not
necessary and an unneeded cost. I have never seen a service
patrol on any trail I ever used, unless you count DNR fee collectors.

** Any other thoughts out there?

Positive alternatives rather than just being against something
always helps.

Are there any other thoughts out there?
