This list has previously identified this source of the anti-commuter rail diatribe as biased libertarian hogwash. So I'm surprised to see that [EMAIL PROTECTED] posted them without commentary. (Although it is always good to read what others' with different views are thinking.)
The basis for most of the Thoreau Institute's argument seems to be that congestion is bad, therefore, ANYTHING that promotes the free flow of SOV automobile traffic is good. It would be nice if the Thoreau Institute would publish a rational argument that takes ALL factors into account, not just personal freedom. But generally speaking I don't expect rational unbiased commentary from so-called "think tanks" regardless of political persuasion. One valid point. The expanded bus service study (although I have not read it) seems like something that deserves more visibility. >>> "Caveat adsiduus -- let the taxpayer beware!"
