This list has previously identified this source of the anti-commuter
rail diatribe as biased libertarian hogwash.  So I'm surprised to see
that [EMAIL PROTECTED] posted them without commentary.  (Although it
is always good to read what others' with different views are thinking.)

The basis for most of the Thoreau Institute's argument seems to be that
congestion is bad, therefore, ANYTHING that promotes the free flow of
SOV automobile traffic is good.

It would be nice if the Thoreau Institute would publish a rational
argument that takes ALL factors into account, not just personal freedom.
But generally speaking I don't expect rational unbiased commentary from
so-called "think tanks" regardless of political persuasion.

One valid point.  The expanded bus service study (although I have not
read it) seems like something that deserves more visibility.
