Here's what works (fairly well) for me.

Head: I've had really good luck with ski goggles. They are usually found with tinted
lenses, but I found a pair with clear lenses that works nicely in both day and night
conditions. I believe that they are designed to fit over eyeglasses. A bonus of this
system is that the elastic strap helps keep the ears a bit warmer than just a headband.

Hands: This seems to be the most difficult area for me. I am currently using a pair of
split mittens (lobster gloves) with liners. They allow a bit more dexterity than
mittens and a bit more warmth than gloves. In most weather, this set-up seems adequate
for my short 3-mile commute, thought my fingers were kind of sore this morning.

Feet: I have discovered that a great deal of my body heat was stolen from my feet
before it got there; through the ankles. I have taken to wearing gaiters on mornings
like this, which helps a whole lot.

I hope this helps and happy Nosecicles,
Steve
