I was unaware that CM rider's demand police
protection?  I'm at the CM rides and I sure don't
demand their protection.  I like to see them there
since they add a little "spice" to the ride but I
don't need them for protection.  

The police have not been a factor in the ride since
one of the cops feel and injured herself a few months
back.
