Hello,
What you need is a recumbent bike.
I absolutely agree. I got one last spring and while I never had that much problem with an upright bike (and still ride them when I ride in winter) the recumbent is like being in a dream where you are magically transported to work sitting in your lawn chair. It also helps if you ever suffer from numb hands and/or strained shoulders. I haven't been biking much this winter due to a needed repair on my good winter bike, no time, other family and personal schedules, etc. but I am really drooling to get back on the recumbent this spring. I haven't yet tried to see if it will fit on the bus rack, though. It is a short wheel base model but I don't know if it will work with the rack system we have here (one big hook arm that swings up and over to secure the wheel.) (its a Rans Rocket.)
