For any of you who bike, walk, etc. across the stretch of Stoughton Road, you might
need to
know the speed has been raised from 45 mph to 55 mph.

I see little concern here for the people who live along this corridor. I also
intensely dislike the
creeping phenom of "Well, people are breaking the law by going 13 mph over the speed
limit anyway, might as well change it."

Even if this change is to work on progressive stop light issues, once a speed has been
raised, what are the changes of having it lowere? It seems what should have been the
original purpose of slowing down slightly--to actually accomodate people who have to
live
here, has been kicked to the curb like yesterday's squashed possum.

People trying to cross to the other side of Hwy 51 are seen as nuisances at best, even
at 45
mph. As we see more deaths on this stretch, it will be, "Well what the hell were
these
people doing trying to cross Hwy 51 on foot, bike, or wheelchair anyway? Tell 'em to
use
their cars!"
