For SW Path users, the best detour may be Spring St.  It doesn't carry much
traffic (though it might take some effort to keep the cars away this
summer).  At the west end, it connects fairly well with the SW Path.  At the
east end, it meets Park St.  During rush hours, it may not be easy to cross
Park St. at Spring St. (I don't know; I haven't tried it yet), but perhaps
Traffic Engineering can make the crossing safer.

Anyway, it's worth looking at.
