So far, I've not heard that any consideration is being made for the thousands of bicyclists and pedestrians who will have to CROSS Dayton St. every day. For example, will there be a stop light at Charter St., as there is on Johnson? Will crosswalks be marked and signed? Will there be a posted and enforced 25 mph speed limit? There's an opportunity here for the city and university to demonstrate concern for ALL the people who use the area, not just those who drive through it in cars. Perhaps even the reconstructed Johnson St. could include such features to make crossing it safer and easier, plus some means of slowing the drivers who come off Campus Drive and cross Randall at 50 mph.
