why, exactly, aren't Cedarburg police seeking a charge of attempted
homicide or at least attempted assault?!?

I think of disorderly conduct as something akin to disturbing the peace,
e.g. "yelling obscenities in a public place," certainly not akin to
attempting to kill or maim another human being with a large truck.

If the driver had come back brandishing a gun (or a chainsaw) instead of a
very large truck, do you suppose the police would have acted differently?!?

"The Metro driver got a $131 municipal ticket. Upset, he threatened to
return with his semi and kill Emmrich. [snip]
Police will seek charges of disorderly conduct against the man, Frank said."
