The letter Kathryn received - and posted on Bikies - has been circulating
through national lists. It was received by just about everyone I know who wrote
to the radio station. So unless some hacker managed to find the list of people
chewing out the radio station and send the same (fake) letter to each of them,
it came from the radio station.

I still agree with Paul that the DJs were going beyond a little fun and humor.
But I am willing to believe that the DJ and radio station have been properly
spanked and realize that the bicyclists around the country are not going to let
these things go.

It is almost impossible to prosecute anyone in the media for saying anyting in
priont or on the air. Unless you can prove libel, they can say whatever they
want.

The hope among the bike advocates around the country is that this will open a
dialog with the station - or Clear Channel nationally - to fund or at least run
bike safety PSAs or some other positive programming.
