ATV and snowmobiles also burn gasoline, which pollutes the air and emits greenhouse gases. Burning fuel for recreational purpose is something that is in dire need of being phased out. For every gallon of gasoline burned, another 20 lbs of carbon dioxide accumulates in the atmosphere.
Think of it this way. If you have a 5 gallon can of gasoline, and you pour the gasoline into the tank (for ATV, snowmobile, motor boat, car, SUV, lawn mower, etc.,), how much weight is left after the fuel gets all burned up? Zero, of course. All that weight has to go somewhere. The atmosphere is getting a lot heavier, due to motorized travel. It is now beginning to have an effect. But the worst is yet to come, unfortunately. Scientists now believe global warming is melting the Alps, threatening widespread devastation over the next two decades. http://observer.guardian.co.uk/international/story/0,6903,1001674,00.html mtn "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." - Martin Luther King, Jr. > > In general, in regards to ATV use on bicycle trails, BFW maintains > that: > 1.
