If I had records, I would provide them, but I will send email to my alder.
(How does one address an email to one's alder? Dear Alderperson Bellman?)

As for accident, definitely not - from todays WSJ, per an eyewitness she
made the corner at 35 to 40, against the red. Obviously never saw the
sign, never saw the pedestrian. No license, driving an SUV. She says she
never felt, saw, or heard anything. (I'd take off a few MPH because
eyewitness accounts are invariably wrong if they don't have a radar gun
with them).

Quote from Channel3000's article:

Vilas told News 3 city engineers will take a look at the pedestrian
crossing lights.

Right now, walkers get the go ahead, at the very same moment the traffic
lights turn.

Vilas said delays might help, but that overall, drivers following the laws
more carefully would make the biggest impact.

How about drivers following laws, period? I'd really like to see no right
turn on red anywhere in this city - it's too problematic. Delaying the
walk signal isn't a terrible idea, but it's not going to make a difference.
There are many times that the right turns don't stop until the walk signal
is already shifted to blinking and Fairchild traffic is about to go.

Rich,
if you have 5 years of notices, you might inquire if the police
have a record of that. Tell your alder. Let him or her know that
this was not an 'accident'.
