Regarding the Waunakee-Westport Bike/Ped Plan: We have been working with Waunakee, Westport, and WisDOT to negotiate the multi-party contact since Vandewalle & Associates and Strand Associates were awarded that job a few months ago. These wheels can grind slowly. We now have the required local and consultant signatures, and expect to have the governor's signature within about a month. Then we can get started.
I promise to post all information on input opportunities on the Bikies list once we get going on this thing. Like we did for Fitchburg's plan a couple of years ago, we intend to actively seek the input of the bicycling community through public input sessions, a focus group, and a group ride around the area that I will organize before the snow flies.
