Fitchburg Bikies (and those that work, play, or shop there) - Tonight (Tues, Aug 12) at 7:30 PM, the Fitchburg City Council will debate whether to CUT funding for a Capital City Trail overpass of Fish Hatchery Rd. If this is important to you, please call or email the city council.
This intersection is dangerous - especially when traveling from east to west on the trail. Southbound motorists often make a right turn on red onto PD/McKee Rd without checking for pedestrians and bicyclists crossing with a WALK light. Because there is a natural rise on either side of Fish Hatchery, this overpass would not be as expensive as a normal bridge. And Fitchburg would only have to put up 20% of the cost because the rest would be paid for with federal funding.
