Due to the bridge construction on Sherman Ave. I have been taking Fordam
to work each day. As I ride it I wonder why this wide street does not
have more pavement markings on it. The drivers seem to wander about and
sometimes even pretend it is a four lane. I wonder if it would help
direct traffic and give me a better road to ride on if the city striped
a bike lane or at least a shared parking/bike lane. It seems this would
fit on this street at least from the Sherman and N. Sherman intersection
to the actual painted 4 lanes down by the Camelot Apts. The area in
between is where some of the drivers seem very confused, one lane? two
lane? parking lane?

Has this been discussed and turned down before? If yes, why was it
turned down? If it has not been brought up before, what do people
think?
