I've been searching for moped-specific pollution figures unsuccessfully but there is some information on other 2 cycle engines at http://www.tamucc.edu/~outreach/peso/p3air/know.html Which states "Running a 90 horse power 2 cycle outboard boat motor for 7 hours makes as much pollution as driving a car 100,000 miles. Consider a cleaner burning 4 cycle engine. " I don't know where their data comes from, but it's a pretty impressive statistic. http://www.northstar.sierraclub.org/Air_Toxics_ASC_small_engines. htm Fact sheet prepared by the Sierra Club Air Toxics Campaign. http://www.epa.gov/otaq/regs/nonroad/2002/f02033.pdf for motorcycles http://www.epa.gov/otaq/models/ap42/ap42-h8.pdf for cars http://www.epa.gov/otaq/models/ap42/ap42-h1.pdf still more http://www.hikersforcleanair.org/papers/2cycle.html And to think of all those years I pushed around a 2 cycle lawnboy mower (I didn't know!) Bill (wheeze, cough) Putnam, now hand pushing his reel mower around the yard. _______________________________________________ Bikies mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.danenet.org/mailman/listinfo/bikies
