Hi All,

I've been working with folks from the City & UW Hospital on a "Be Bright at
Night" campaign for the week of September 15-19. I think you all might be
interested in the efforts and events (of various organizations) that will
add to the promotion of the campaign. These included/will include:

1) A press conference at the City of Madison Police Department on Monday,
September 15 at 11:00am.

2) "Be Bright at Night" ads run in student newspapers on Monday, September
15.

3) Bucky's Ambassadors will be passing out free front & rear lights at
various events on campus:

     - Table at Library Mall: Monday, Sept 15 @ 4:30-7pm (by fountain)
     - Bike Skills Workshop: Tuesday, Sept 16 @ 6pm (TITU Memorial Union)
     - Lakeshore Dorm Shortcourse: Thursday, Sept 18 @ 7pm (students only,
Sullivan Hall basement)
     - Other public event info at www.fpm.wisc.edu/ambassadors

4) Great Choices Week will include a "Bike-In Film Fest" this year, where
LED headlights will be given out by Bucky's Ambassadors to the first 50
students to arrive each night for the screenings. See www.fpm.wisc.edu/tdm
for more info.

5) City of Madison will be printing a brochure with info on lighting issues
to be distributed at bike shops, on campus, and various other outlets.

6) As a plus, local law enforcement will be out en masse Sept 22-Oct 4. It
is my understanding that they won't have many night shifts, but can still do
some education on light use and possibly hand out above brochures.

Please feel free to contact me with questions.

Alison
