Accident a tragedy waiting to happen

By TERRY EINER Coon Valley, Wis.

The death of the biker on Irish Hill is such a tragedy for both his family and the person who hit him but, frankly, I'm surprised it hasn't happened sooner. I travel Hwy. YY each day and have commented many times that someday a biker is going to be killed on that road.

On several occasions, I have come around a blind corner to find three or four riders side by side, taking up the entire lane in the road.

I realize there are no bike trails in this area for them, but we teach our children to ride single file. It make a person wonder why these so-called adults haven't learned this lesson.

To me it seems a very selfish act. Not only are they not thinking of their own safety, they obviously are not considering what effect their injury or death would have on the driver or their families should they get in an accident.

Bikers, you say share the road with bikes. I say, please remember you share the road with vehicles that cannot stop on a dime. Please ride responsibly for the sake of those who love you.
