While I agree that motor vehicle traffic on bike paths should be limited to circumstances where it is absolutely necessary, it is worth pointing out that circumstances where you might encounter something besides a bicyclist riding on the correct side of the path do exist. We should all be riding on bike paths as if we expect to see a police car, a city landscaping vehicle, a family walking with their baby girl, or a fallen tree just around that next blind corner.

those blind corners (blind because of the bridge you
have to go under) and AHHH! there is a dipshit in a
MPD squad car driving down the bike path, taking up
the entire path and then some. we almost flew over his
hood. we had to brake hard and swerve into the grass
to go around him."
