Since the TPC hearing in May 2003, you spoke up, Metro listened! The TPC wants to know how each approach affects your bus travel:

The May proposal:
New Route 9 travels from East Transfer Point via North St and East Johnson to University Avenue to campus, then loops in the Bassett neighborhood. Currently, routes 3 and 4 bunch up on the Jenifer St corridor. To fix this, Route 3 arrives and departs the East & West Transfer Points at 15 minutes past and 15 minutes before the hour. This means a bus every 15 minutes on Jenifer St. (All East Transfer Point buses will meet at 15 minutes past and 15 minutes before the hour: Metro calls this the "Offset Pulse." Route 3 runs the same streets as it does now.

An alternative proposal sparked by defenders of Route 10:
New Route 9 travels from East Transfer Point via Schenk's Corners then First St north across the isthmus, before heading down East Johnson to University Avenue to campus. This replaces former Route 10's cross-isthmus service. Change Route 3 so it doesn't go all the way to the Square, instead serving the Bassett neighborhood via E Wilson/Broom St westbound and Bassett/W. Wilson eastbound.

You are of course free to discuss this wherever you please, but the only way to guarantee that TPC members know your opinions is to include Metro in your email/phone/letter loop.
