This is just FYI. It was sent to me by a friend earier

today:

"I know there were signs on racks on State St. that
said if a bike was locked to that rack it would be
removed. However, some people I work with had their
bikes taken --they were locked to poles, trees and
bike racks-- NOT ON STATE STREET(on gorham by ancora).
These areas had no warning signs on them. One of my
coworkers made a call to try and see when she could
get her bike back and was told that "The person
dealing with that will be out of town until late next
week". Another coworker was told it would be at least
be 2 days. These are both people who depend on their
bike as their only mode of transportation. Although
I'm not sure who they called, I have the confidence in
them to have been making calls to the right people. Do
you know if anyone else has had this happen to them?"

Any ideas on why side streets would be cleared without
-or even with- warning?
