My understanding is that the racks are removed more because of the possibility of large crowds of people tripping over them and/or getting crushed against them. Yes, there are other obstructions...a good point. Further...we're not "folding"...we're trying to make the situation better...and we are asking all of you to help by providing useful ideas. Of course my first comment to the City will be to ask why the bikes have to be removed at all. Beyond that...I wanted to know what people would like to see happen IF the City insists on removing the racks. Having the whole list say that the bikes should not be removed at all doesn't present any new and interesting solutions to the situation. -Marjorie
