The Surface Transportation Policy Project and those other organizations
could use all the help they can get, especially from organizations not
traditionally thought of as environmentally minded.
America Bikes would do well to come out and do battle for its own sake,
as the stakes are much too high to allow let others to carry the
environmental weight into battle. If they lose the fight for us, then
what happens? We lose everything there is that about bicycling that
matters, and get nothing in return. Not a good strategy, in my opinion.
