I see the danenet bicycling community page (bcp) now contains a free advertising plug for Community Car, Inc. (CC, Inc.), joining Isthmus newspaper and most of the other local newspaper and TV stations giving free advertising to this new car renting enterprise in Madison.
Here's a line contained in DNR's latest employee newsletter promoting this alternative to a rent-a-car business in Madison: "By joining Community Car, you can save money and decrease your impact on the environment by busing, biking, carpooling, or walking to work without giving up the freedom that access to a car during the work day can provide." Why can't people who work during the day walk, bike or take a bus to lunch and meetings around town? Don't hop on the band wagon. It's easier and better for the environment to walk, bike or learn AND USE the public bus system in Madison than it is to use a car.
