I appriciate the email Jeff.
It is worth pointing out, that I am not a law abiding
cyclist. It is also wroth pointing out that if I am
stopped and if I have broken a law, I perfectly and
politely accept the ticket. If I do not feel I have
broken a law, or if I have but am being dealt with by
the officer or officers in an unacceptable manner, I
will argue the fact. This holds true except in certain
cases such as, for instance, being out of town in
another city. What I'm getting at is that I'm likely
to get a ticket for one bicycle related thing or
another and if I wasn't blatantly breaking the law,
you'll all hear about it.
As for the Martin Lund Defense Fund, it is also worth
mentioning that I manage a bank account with a
ballance of $97.34 --an amount raised for, well, the
Martin Lund Defense Fund. This money was graciously
raised on my behlaf some years ago after I was
wrongfully arrested durring a Critical Mass ride here
in Madison. Since I succeeded in having both of the
tickets thrown out, the city was forced to pick up the
bill and the money has remained unspent. Should anyone
in Madison be forced to endure *illegitimate* aresst
and subsequent court or ticket costs I would happily
donate this money. Of course, the way things work out
with me.
