so let me see... cars = constant warfare...
if we ride in them, bike near them, live next to them, manufacture them, live above their fuel, or go to sleep listening to their roar...it's war on us i mean, enough of us die from car impacts each year to equal the U$ death toll during vietnam...but we don't see a "war on terror" targeting cars... old, young, beloveds of all species (so many crushed turtles and raccoons!)...all scurrying about risking life and limb to simply go somewhere close to home...and so many dont make it...crushed in bloody smears and ugly tangles... our lakes and streams fill with debris and residue from tires and fuel and lubricants... the air clogs with particles and gases...carbon levels soaring, arctic life dying or moving on, ice caps melting, oil demand skyrocketing... and ignorant profiteers make constant war to fill their pockets with so much gold... yet we feel like it is impossible to even imagine life without cars and trucks...delivering our life to us every day... ***** i was reading Al-Jazeera the other day thinking of the impact of the images they publish...anguished families rending their clothing at funeral after funeral in iraq and palestine...blood-soaked children in arms of neighbors...we would riot if we could all see the cost of these war$... and getting into a car (gasp!) last week i realized i'd probably never open a car door again if i could see the car-wreck CARnage published in the papers...if i saw the death and dismemberment printed like the truth it is...if we were shown the real daily cost in simple terrible terms... maybe then we'd live the world of my dreams where vehicles that get stranded in pedestrian strongholds would be pelted with stones and wrecked...and then dismantled by people hungry for parts and raw materials...where car trips were difficult crossings made only out of sheer necessity...where people could live each day without mortal fear of hurtling death machines... it's time to wake up on fire... love, wajid _______________________________________________ Bikies mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.danenet.org/mailman/listinfo/bikies
