As a bicyclist, I have NOT found the visibility of this intersection to be that problematic PROVIDED the bicyclist stops (or slows way down) before crossing Glenway St. However, if the bicyclist is riding fast and doesn't slow down before crossing the street, the chance of the driver seeing the bicyclist in time to avoid a collision is very poor. The reason is that the cars coming from the south and going north have had to climb a hill and make a turn a few hundred feet before meeting the bike path.
I used to commute on the SW bike path. That particular intersection always seemed dangerous, even if the rider stops fully. Because the visibility is so poor in both directions, speeding vehicles can just appear at an uncomfortable distance in the time it takes to look both ways. The cars going slowly weren't a problem, but the speeders caused a lot of anxiety.
