Martin (and Michael);

The reason for my boycotting businesses on the Capitol Square presently
(including the Farmer's Market), is mainly for self preservation primarily.
It's not so much to pressure the merchants into re-canting although that's part
of it, too.

By avoiding bicycling on the Square (as I see it pictured on TV nowadays), I
feel I am better protecting my lungs, heart, brain, blood and other cells from
unnecessary motor vehicle exhaust gas and particles that the new automobile
parking and driving "vibrancy" has provided.

Maybe if enough others bicyclists and pedestrians were as concerned about those
things as I am, it might significantly reduce usage of the Square so that the
merchants and City decision-makers would eliminate the new parking spaces. But
I realize that's a long shot.

Other people certainly should be just as interested as I am in lowering their
risk of getting respiratory disease; heart failure; stroke; and cancer?
(Besides, I don't want to get hit by a car, either - although I realize the
city is still working that concern.) Mike
