Possibly losing perspective on this "bike-go-around" forum? I just read the
invective by a woman who is for a police state sounding much like "the old
Oligarchs of the new Russia." Indeed I could carry on political invective on
jails and confiscations. We know the State is capable of both. But have the
described confiscations of pencil boats, saloons and fast cars ridded us of the
drug problem? But maybe more to the point of this bicycle go-around is
shedding light on "chasing dogs" and how far from the road edge a bicycle on a
county road should ride? On the second--I have found that at least two feet is
better than at the edge. This way two cars cannot whiz past, side by side to
your left. When there is enough space to drive past, most drivers don't even
cross the center line while passing a bicycle. But two feet seems just enough
to prevent such.
