... this lawn mowing thing puzzles me because it's only gasoline-powered
mowers that are a problem in this respect, although they do dominate
statistically.  They ought to make the distinction and specify
gasoline-powered, not because people wouldn't otherwise figure out that
reel mowers aren't covered, but rather that not making the distinction
perpetuates the public myth that it's somehow perfectly "normal" that a
lawn mower ought to be gasoline-powered rather than simply being powered
by walking behind it.

This ought to be prominently posted on the outsides of buses (preferably
the day before if known) so people seeing them pass by will know. 
Granted, they pass by so infrequently in this high-fare and transit-poor
city, still burdened by a long-outdated 1970s-era dieselbus-only transit
system... oh, never mind. :-(
