Saris Cycling Group is an outstanding supporter of bicycle advocacy both at the state and national level.  They are very supportive of the Bicycle Federation.  They are also a vital component of the economic impact of bicycle-related manufacturing in Wisconsin. Below is information on a ride that they are sponsoring for Prevent Child Abuse Wisconsin.

Dear Marjorie:

I am contacting you to urge your support for a cause that I fervently believe in, and that is to raise awareness of child abuse and get behind an organization that is working toward helping families put a stop to the abuse!   Because I feel so strongly about this issue, Saris Cycling Group is sponsoring  the Saris Spoke Out -- a bike ride (or if you prefer, a walk) to raise funds for the Prevent Child Abuse Wisconsin.  This wonderful organization works to prevent child abuse and neglect, support healthy childhood development, and strengthen families.

In 2004, 190 riders raised $8,500.  We have set ambitious goals for 2005. We are hoping we will have 500 riders raise over $15,000.

There are some great prizes and lots of fun connected to this event, including a special performance by the Schwinn BMX stunt team. I am hoping you will consider putting together a team of riders to help us reach our goal, perhaps a team or two of co-workers.  Or, make it a family event for a cause ... it would be a wonderful day to take a bike ride or walk with your children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews!  Individual riders/walkers are welcome as well.

What:  Ride around Lake Monona or Walk Along Wingra Creek
When:  Sunday, September 25, 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM
Where:  Olin Park

Please note:  The team sign-up sheet is for the team captain's records.  Each team member needs to register.   For more details and to sign up, go to http://www.preventchildabusewi.org/ or print and use the attached packet of information.
