To get back to the original idea of this thread, it amazes me when people argue that if we just got the cars moving faster, we could reduce pollution. Sure, with less idling, it might reduce exhaust by a few percent. But this ignores the fact that we could reduce pollution by 50% if we cut the number of motors by 50%.
