RE: don't most school zones include a much lower speed limit during
school hours? or maybe they just do this for younger students?

According to the DOT drivers' handbook, motorists and cyclists are
required to slow to 20 mph (used to be 15 mph until some legislators
must have figured that the obesity epidemic must be over and kids can
run faster) at marked school zones "when children are present." I don't
recall whether there are school crossing signs there or not, as that
part of the city seems like another universe with all the "Townes" in
the area.

don't most school zones include a much lower speed limit during school
hours? or maybe they just do this for younger students?
