I agree that the current name is boooooring [ use your best Homer Simpson voice here].But I also agree the with 'elites' that the entire path should have single name. Its too confusing otherwise: "take Greenbush Way, until it becomes Camp Randall Road, then it turns into the Forest Hill Funway, until it becomes Allied Alley" I'm tired of naming every non-motorized street as a 'path' . There is a cute little dirt trail in my neighborhood that is far from bikable, its barely walkable. That is an official city path. The Southwest 'Path' is more properly a highway. (don't even get me started on 'bike path'). There is a long tradition of naming subdivisions (and to some extent roads) after features that have been eliminated. How about the 'Wisconsin and Southern Highway', or just Wisco Highway? Another consideration: If we don't come up with an interesting name that has local ownership, is it possible that the SWP will simply become 'the Northwest extension of the Badger Trail'? I think Badger Trail is an improvement over 'Southwest path'. But, as Bill Clinton used to say "We can do better, and we will do better". _______________________________________________ Bikies mailing list [email protected] http://www.danenet.org/mailman/listinfo/bikies
